The Application and Applicability of HEC-HMS Model in Flood Simulation under the Condition of River Basin Urbanization

With the acceleration of urbanization in a river basin, changes underlying surface structure basin are more and intense, which causes frequent floods. This article aims to analyze applicability HEC-HMS model flood simulation basins influence land use on catchment runoff. Pu River Basin is typical taken as research project. Based changes, soil types, long-term hydrological data Basin, constructed using GIS HEC-geoHMS. Then, relative error peak runoff, Nash–Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient, correlation used evaluate rating. The results show that suitable for an its performance grade before better than after urbanization. Finally, sensitivity analysis nine parameters shows curve number, initial abstraction, imperviousness, time lag main parameters. will provide reference basins’ stormwater management.
